I'm sure somebody will have a name for it but I just discovered it and have been making it to take to BBQs & GTGs all summer.
Line a rimmed cokie sheet with foil.
Take 1 sleeve of Saltines and line them up in a single layer in the cookie sheet.
Melt 2 sticks of butter and 1 cup f sugar in the microwave or a saucepan; pour over saltines.
Bake at (preheated) 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Cover with 12 ounces of chocolate chips and return to the oven til melted.
Spread melted chocolate over all and cool/chill.
When cool, break into pieces.
Sweet and Savory Heaven!
My friend makes something very similar, except with nuts on top and a bit more OCD, and she calls it toffee.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this!! My best friend makes this and just calls it Chocolate Salties.
ReplyDeleteI know others who make things similar and call it toffee as well.
Try it with different flavered chocolate chips as well, I made it with the mint chips and the raspberry chips during Christmas and they were a big hit!
