Chili- simple and easy

This is a fancier version of the recipe that is on the back of the Chili mix packaging. It is really easy to make and always gets raves

Ingredients:
1-1.5 lbs of ground beef
2 tbsp of oil
1 can red kidney beans
1 onion
2-3 jalapeno peppers
1 pack of chili seasoning mix (usually use McCormicks)
3 cloves of garlic
1 bottle of dark beer (usually use Guiness)
2-3 small cans of tomato sauce, 8 oz cans
toppings: shredded chedddar, sour cream, Doritos, tortillas
serve with corn muffins/bread

Directions:
  • chop garlic, onion and jalapeno and saute with oil till soft.
  • Add meat and cook till brown, add half bottle of beer
  • add beans (with juice), chili seasoning and saute about five minutes
  • add tomato sauce and remaining beer. Start with 2 cans of sauce and add a third if needed
  • cook for an hour on low with lid on, stirring frequently
  • serve with your choice of toppings and cornbread
